I have always threatened of going to one of the Pan African Space Station( PASS) events & well I finally put it into action, eGug’s thebe kwaLanga & boy oh snap boy what an event , what made me sad was that I missed ntate Phillip Tabane & only the universe knows when I will ever get to see him perform.
When I saw them carrying those drums in and then saw the great man himself walking into Guga’s thebe with Neo Muyanga, who am also humongous fan of, or stalker fan as I would say to my friends, for a minute I just wanted to say screw the fact that I will not get a taxi home or any other mode of transport home & would have to resort to calling be dad to come and get me...and do not get me started on that but, alas logic set in pity had to bounces........To other important matters & what untimely consoled me & what was one of my top three performances,(which include mama uSibongile Khumalo & Zap Mama) ever! Thandiswa Mazwai oh my goodness really was she serious......her performance was so effortless & that is what made it amazing , simple & seamless lyric but the thought & feelings they invoke well........that I cannot ever explain.
Next Tutu Pouane, & should the universe conspire with me, squeeze in Dj Premier.
